#TheBurgCares, Inc is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire health and behavioral changes among families and within communities through health promotion, target marketing and education. Established in 2017, #TheBurgCares has dedicated its efforts to
helping St. Petersburg residents become more aware of the health issues they’re at risk for and prevention efforts to achieve better health outcomes.

In 2019, #TheBurgCares formed the 3 Black Vegan Girls initiative to raise awareness of thebenefits of plant-based eating among African Americans in St. Petersburg. This initiative emerged out of a desire to not only increase healthy eating, but also address the disparity that
exists among African Americans in St. Petersburg related to cardiovascular disease, cancer, and premature deaths. What started as a Facebook group with 25 members sharing plant-based recipes grew over 100 members, several health documentary screenings, and the first Natural Fest in the spring of 2019 with over 100 attendees.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it became even more important to address this concernin the community. Responding to the health challenges of today require innovative solutions and strong community partnerships.

To further the 3 Black Vegan Girls initiative's impact in St. Petersburg, as well as develop newefforts to educate the community on healthy eating, #TheBurgCares has formed a partnership with The Deuces Live, Inc and My Better Living Health and Wellness Consulting, LLC to
usher in a new tradition in our community of celebrating and educating on natural, whole foods and their healing properties. The 2023 Natural Food Festival featuring the grand opening of the Deuces Food Forest marks the beginning of the 3 Black Vegan Girls ambassadorship of the Deuces Food Forest, which will routinely bring an array of natural produce and education to the members of the community. This event will surely bring families, organizations, and businesses together for an educational, healing, and tasty good time.
